Sally Cantirino
Sally was born in central New Jersey on March 31, 1990, which was supposedly a cloudy day. She has no siblings, but enjoys (and has always enjoyed) being an only child. She was raised on the Jersey shore her whole life, spending time in Asbury Park and Ocean Grove when she wasn't at the beach by her own home. Her childhood was comprised of playing alone, building versions of the Cathedral of Notre Dame out of tissue boxes and coming up with complex stories for her Disney figurines and Sailor Moon dolls, stories that took longer to make up than to actually play. She is a self-proclaimed loner and has no issue with it.

She doesn't consider herself born with an artistic talent. Her kindergarten scribbles look just like every other kindergartener's scribbles. However, her mother enrolled her in a plethora of art programs through the county Parks and Recreating system-as well as theatre and musical theatre classes. It wasn't until 6th grade that actually began to pursue art, if you don't count statements made at the age of 7 about wanting to be a cake decorator. She began to draw furiously and constantly (but also still participated in school plays). She attended Middle School of the Arts for Middlesex County during 7th and 8th grade. Starting in 10th grade, she began to attend Pre-College classes at School of Visual Arts in New York City, taking classes in Cartooning, Animation, Illustration, Figure Drawing, and Portfolio. However, she found her niche in Cartooning during the summer of 2007, in which she adapted a short comic from the beginning of Cris's "The White Parade". Since then, she has taken more classes in Cartooning through Continuing Education, as well as classes in Silkscreen. Currently, she attends Middlesex County College on a full scholarship as a Liberal Arts major, and plans to major in Art History and minor in Education later on. Other than English and art classes, her favourite subjects include Anatomy & Physiology, Psychology, Sociology, and History. She also harbours a fascination with learning languages, and knows some Spanish, Italian, and a little Norwegian; eventually she would like to learn more Norwegian, as well as German and Russian.

Sally's interests spread farther than just traditional art and comics. While she has a Canon Rebel XTi camera, her heart lies with the all-plastic Diana Dreamer F+ and traditional 120 format and 35mm film. She also enjoys baking, t-shirt reconstruction, sewing, and general craftiness. Despite pursuing the visual arts, she still sings and can play piano, guitar, and mandolin, the latter two of which she taught herself. She has also been kickboxing for almost three years. Sally has also had a few brushes with fame, ranging from fighting with Bruce Springsteen's kids in a toy store as a child, to multiple meetings with members of My Chemical Romance, to crying shamelessly in front of Amanda Palmer. She is inspired greatly by the music she listens to, and her taste in music ranges from punk, rock, and emo to bands like Murder by Death, The Dear Hunter, The Dresden Dolls, Gogol Bordello, Vermillion Lies, and Kaizers Orchestra.
